Photographer Philip Karlberg has just created a unique shoot for Plaza Magazine, sculpting famous faces by simply using clever lighting and carefully arranged wooden pins. Speaking about the project, Karlberg said:

“A couple of months ago I came up with an idea I have had in mind for years. I just did not know what I could use it for. But then I did a test with sunglasses, and it really turned out great. So I sent an image with the test to Plaza Magazine, and a week later I started shooting. It was a real challenge to ‘sculpt’ the faces of some classic wearers of sunglasses. It took me 6 days to shoot the 6 faces, and around 1200 sticks were used.”

Bubblegum hues, bulging balloons and contrasting textures comprise the new Melissa shoe shop in Melbourne, Australia.

‘The need was to create another world, a sensory delight,’ say designers Juliet Moore and Ben Edwards who were commissioned to realize the Brazilian shoe label’s first shop on Aussie soil.
They filled the space with 300 PTFE plastic spheres that resemble suspended balloons. Threaded onto cables mounted around the perimeter, the spheres hang in clusters throughout the shop. Called ‘bubbles,’ they can be used to hang and display shoes in various manners with the help of bespoke suction caps.
