Thank god for the internet- I’ve found so many designers, artists and fashion trends by small businesses and individuals because of it! Among other perks of course, like being able to stalk your ex-boyfriend and see who’s his current squeeze is…but that’s just a minor perk of course! Polli, a company owned by Maja Ross and Tess Lloyd was birthed after the two met while studying industrial design at the University of Technology in Sydney. With their strong interest in the craft culture, sustainable design and fashion, of course- they started creating a line of earrings, pendants, brooches, cufflinks and even creative homeware- décor, jewelry stands, etc.
The power of a great pair of headphones is seriously underestimated- if you’ve had a pair that doesn’t go in and out, or crackle in your ears- you know what I’m talking about. The only problem is half the time you find a pair of great headphones, they’re over the top bulky and make you look like a rebellious teenager hiding behind his music and his hair. Some women are obsessed with their handbags, it’s all designer or nothing at all. I’ve never been one to wear faux designer, I’d rather wear something uniqe, than wear something imitation. My Mother has an amazing Louis sitting in her closet and she only uses it one “special” occasions, meaning the bag has left the darkness of the closet may four times a year…what’s the point of dropping a couple grand on a purse if it isn’t going to get worn in?! My philosophy with purses it that they should get a little wear and tear on them- I usually wear mine until I notice that my favorite lip gloss is missing because it’s slipped between the lining- once the lining is ripped, it’s time for a new bag.
