The first thought I had about these “crayons” was why do they look so grainy?! I’m a grown woman, but I most definitely pull out the coloring books and crayons from time to time and by that I mean…on a weekly basis. I have the largest collection of crayons, from when I was a kid to newer investments- everything from the classic colors to the glittery pens, assorted colored pencils, markers and so on. I pretty much thought that I had every single coloring medium in my “craft kit” and then I saw these crayons by Luxirare. Yes, they look a little more grainy and odd and yes, there’s a reason for that; THESE CRAYONS ARE MADE OUT OF ALL NATURAL MATERIALS….NOT JUST ANY MATERIAL, but food.

I mean, I actually think that you could EAT these crayons. The days of needing to taste some glue, or Play-doh are gone, put these crayons in school and you’ll be able to munch on a crayon without feeling like a total weirdo…or have a snack of Goji berries when you need a little boost of antioxidants- that is if you can handle coloring without red? I don’t know that you’d want to eat these crayons, but the fact that such VIBRANT, beautiful colors come from food, plants and so on, from our EARTH is just astounding to me. What’s the point of ever using ANYTHING, or making something processed?

Back in the day women would use berries and such to color their lips, make rouge, etc. and we’ve gotten so far away from doing anything remotely close to that now- we expect everything to have some sort of chemicals, unnatural materials and so on…and these crayons are challenging that idea- we don’t NEED that! All of the standard colors are represented here; yellow, orange, red, blue and so on and the products used to create them are even more incredible. For yellow; dried pineapple, bee pollen, peanuts, sunflower seeds., etc. Red; freeze dried strawberries, raspberries, goji berries, etc. In fact, I didn’t realize until reading all of these ingredients that we even HAVE this many bright colors in our realm of food! Seeing products like this that are so creative, healthy and definitely innovative give me a little bit of hope that we’re not headed down the path of processed, packaged, canned and frozen. Would you buy a pack of crayons like this?! And the thing I’m most curious about…. would you eat them?! I did notice there’s marshmallow in most of the crayons and I don’t know about you, but I’d eat anything if marshmallow were involved.
